The High Desert Mavericks took Cristóbal Mercado's best shot and still were able to collect a win at John Thurman Field. The final score had High Desert getting past the Nuts, 7-5, in 13 innings. Mercado over 7 innings allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. Ben Tucker earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 3-2. Jim McQuire locked down his 1st save.

Johnny Anderson hit a 2-run triple off Luis Prado in the top of the 13th, which put the Mavericks in front, 7-5. In addition to the triple, Anderson had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 5.
