The Lake Elsinore Storm got a superb performance from pitcher Jerry Weaver, but the San Jose Giants still won the game, 6-3. Weaver threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. San Jose reliever Abel Lewis got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Luis Maldonado was tagged with the loss. Lake Elsinore now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

It could have been a different outcome for San Jose, had it not been for Bob Tucker, the 26-year old center fielder . Tucker contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put San Jose up, 4-3.

"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Lake Elsinore manager Chris Greene.
