The 2026 season is getting uglier for Visalia.
The Bakersfield Blaze weathered an outstanding game by Visalia right fielder Caden Thompson to topple the Rawhide, 8-4. Thompson was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Johnny Morgan, who threw 108 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits.
Bakersfield first baseman Jorge Amador helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager . "But it's got to translate into wins."
The losing skid has reached 7 games for Visalia.
