José Martínez had a good game, but he could not keep the Modesto Nuts from falling, 9-7, to the Bakersfield Blaze at John Thurman Field. The Modesto right fielder went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 in the loss. Kevin MacRury, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. The Blaze now own a record of 71-45.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Sean Page came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Modesto pitcher Killian Freake, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bakersfield on top, 8-7.

Page told a Bakersfield News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
