2025 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Lake Elsinore Storm.

The Bakersfield Blaze and starting pitcher Randy Gordon stifled the Lake Elsinore offense en route to a comfortable 9-2 win at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. At 65-56, the Blaze find themselves in third place in the North Division.

Marc Reynolds, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2022 draft, aided the Bakersfield cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 1-4 with a hit by pitch.

"You can never predict what'll happen," Gordon said. "That's why you play the game."
