|
Rancho Cucamonga registered a win at Recreation Park by beating the Visalia Rawhide, 6-2. Pitcher Jamal Haley was one reason why the Quakes triumphed. Ken Smith collected his 28th save. Visalia is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Eric Columbus? The Rancho Cucamonga first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Quakes on top, 3-0. For the game, Columbus had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"The positive vibes are all around the clubhouse," said Quakes manager Matt Holliday. "Once you see a player having a good at-bat, that's really contagious."
