The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Eric Columbus into a win. Instead, the Visalia Rawhide prevailed, 11-5. Columbus went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win puts Visalia at 39-84.

António Díaz had a big 3-run home run for the Rawhide in the bottom of the second inning. With Visalia trailing 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Joe Groves, who is tied for 7th in the CAL in innings pitched with 134.2, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Rawhide on top, 4-3.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Visalia skipper .
