Ports Get Hard-Earned Win
The Stockton Ports, despite a fine performance by San Jose pitcher Ismael Lucero, grabbed a 2-1 win at Banner Island Ballpark. Lucero allowed 2 runs over 8.1 innings. Mike Davis earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Stockton is now 54-77.

The decisive blow was delivered by Micheal Harden in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Blevins to win the game for Stockton. The home crowd went nuts.

"Good ballgame," said San Jose manager Steve Liddle. "But we came up on the short end."
