Nationals Lose, 6-5, to Winston-Salem
|
The Potomac Nationals inaugurated the 2026 campaign with a disappointing 6-5 loss to the Winston-Salem Dash at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Winston-Salem second baseman Beau Nicholson had a big impact on the outcome. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Jon Ward was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ken Harris. Getting the save was Dave Cobb, his 1st.
Matt Davison was 1 for 4 for Winston-Salem. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ken Harris. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Nicholson.
