The Potomac Nationals opened their 2025 season with an extra-inning triumph over the Wilmington Blue Rocks at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. The final score was 7-6. Potomac shortstop Ken Barnes had a big game. He was 5-6 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 runs.

In the bottom of the tenth, with the score tied, Barnes hammered a solo home run to win it for Potomac.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Barnes said.
