The Lynchburg Hillcats got a strong performance from pitcher Orlando Galindo, who stymied the Wilmington offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Ed Smith Stadium. In 7.1 innings, Galindo surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Chad Cochrane was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Lynchburg took a 4-1 lead on Danny Becker's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Becker hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Wilmington pitcher Pete Mousset visibly frustrated.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Galindo told the Lynchburg Daily News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."

The win gives Lynchburg a record of 3-3.
