The Frederick Keys spoiled a good performance by Lynchburg left fielder Héctor Miranda, bumping off Lynchburg, 8-5, at Harry Grove Stadium. Miranda went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. The win puts Frederick at 4-4.

Frederick got a clutch hit from Joe Blanton. The pinch hitter launched a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"This joint was rocking," said Blanton.
