Clark Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Salem

Myrtle Beach got a terrific game from catcher Ken Clark. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Salem, 8-7. Clark was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Ed Scott, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The loss drops Myrtle Beach to 6-4.
Tommy Robinson helped out the Salem cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Robinson told the Salem Observer.
