Frederick and Lynchburg left the crowd in suspense until the final out.

The Lynchburg Hillcats got a superb performance from pitcher Bert Riggs. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Frederick. The Keys won the game, 1-0. Riggs threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Raúl Hernández in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Don Williams took the loss.

Steve Stone delivered a big hit for Frederick. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Keys ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Stone.

The loss puts Lynchburg at 6-4.
