Blue Rocks Win, 3-1, at Potomac
|
Wilmington got a first-rate effort from pitcher Ben Tucker, who frustrated Potomac hitters en route to a 3-1 Blue Rocks triumph at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Tucker, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs. César García earned the save for Wilmington, his 5th.
Ben Kendrick, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR with a 1.052 OPS, had a direct impact on the outcome. Kendrick contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Wilmington up, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Wilmington manager Ozzie Timmons.
The Nationals fall to 5-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2026 season.
