Pelicans Stumble Again, Lose, 15-3
|
Carolina took on Myrtle Beach in front of a lively crowd.
The Carolina Mudcats knocked off the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 15-3, at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Rudy Swanson was a big reason Carolina won. The designated hitter went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Ron Cochran closed the door for Carolina, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Carolina used the hitting of Joe Allison to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mudcats on top, 3-0. For the game, Allison had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If it's down the middle," said Swanson, "you might as well hit it."
The loss drops the Pelicans to 8-9.
