Keys Suffer 13-2 Drubbing
The Lynchburg Hillcats marched over the Frederick Keys, 13-2, at Harry Grove Stadium. Bret Carlson, who is tied for 4th in the CAR in triples with 1, led the charge. He went 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Zander Kelly, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held the Keys to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Myron Clark recorded the save for Lynchburg, his 1st of the season.

With Lynchburg leading 5-1 in the top of the fifth, Carlson came up to bat against Frederick pitcher Ed Snow. Carlson hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Hillcats on top, 8-1.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Carlson.

The loss has the Keys at 7-10.
