Hillcats shortstop Bret Carlson left his mark on his team's 16-5 win over the Frederick Keys. Carlson, who is tied for 2nd in the CAR in stolen bases with 2, was 4-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for Lynchburg in the contest. Orlando Castro was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. No one expected much of this team, but the hot start by Lynchburg might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. This latest win lifts their record to 11-7.

Clarence Reed had a big 2-run double for the Hillcats in the top of the second inning.
