The Carolina Mudcats used an offensive barrage to beat the Winston-Salem Dash, 13-2, at Grainger Stadium. Jeff Cleeve led the way, going 2-for-4 for Carolina. Winston-Salem, with the loss, is 11-7.

The Mudcats had to work out of trouble in the top of the seventh. The score was 12-0, Carolina, with two out. Winston-Salem, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Rob Larson dug in at the plate, but on a 2-2 splitter, he grounded out.
