Blue Rocks Grind Out 1-0 Win
The Wilmington Blue Rocks went home winners at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Clarence Howell. Howell stifled the Carolina Mudcats, enabling Wilmington to grab the 1-0 win. Carolina, with the loss, is 9-10.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Blue Rocks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when designated hitter Steve Crow hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Kevin King and made the score 1-0, Blue Rocks. Crow went 2-3 with a triple and a walk.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Crow, "one at-bat at a time."
