The Winston-Salem Dash converted a terrific effort from starter Pat Poe into a win over the Potomac Nationals at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. The Dash won the game by a final score of 8-2. The loss drops the Nationals to 7-12.

José Rivera had a big 2-run home run for the Dash in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Winston-Salem leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Mac Anderson and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dash ahead, 4-0.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Cesar Martin.
