Martínez Sensational for Mudcats
The Carolina Mudcats downed the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 5-0, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Stellar pitching by Sergio Martínez had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The win moves Carolina to a record of 10-10.

Martínez, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 1 hit over 7.1 innings for the Mudcats. For the most part, Wilmington hitters were simply overmatched.

"I really like what we did out there today," Martínez said after the game.
