Mudcats Fall Short, 2-1, at Wilmington
|
Daniel S. Frawley Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Carolina Mudcats and Wilmington Blue Rocks.
Wilmington turned a good performance from starting pitcher Ben Tucker into a 2-1 triumph over the Carolina Mudcats at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Wilmington reliever Pete Mousset picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Josh Olsen was saddled with the loss. Picking up his 8th save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher César García.
Steve Crow, who is tied for 5th in the CAR with a .443 on-base percentage, helped out the Wilmington cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-2 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"Ben's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Wilmington manager Ozzie Timmons.
The Blue Rocks raised their record to 14-7.
