Keys center fielder Manny Ortíz put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Salem Red Sox. Ortíz went 2 for 5 with 2 triples. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Frederick in the contest. Picking up his 5th save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Raúl Hernández. The Red Sox, 8-13, continue their sluggish start to the 2026 campaign.
It could have been a different outcome for Frederick, had it not been for Ed Snow, the 23-year old catcher . Snow contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Frederick up, 5-2.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Ortíz.
