Dash Keep Reeling Off Wins
The Winston-Salem Dash extended their winning streak.

Winston-Salem right fielder Greg Battle helped his team beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-2. Battle, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR with a .467 on-base percentage, went 2 for 3 for the Dash. Winston-Salem reliever Juan Vélez picked up the win to move to 1-1. Walt Ashley suffered the loss.

With Winston-Salem trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Battle hit a fastball from Jim Perkins for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Dash ahead, 5-2.

"Whatever it takes to win," said Battle. "That's our attitude."

The Hillcats, now 6-17, continue their sluggish start.
