The Lynchburg Hillcats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Dwayne Wilson, who muffled the Winston-Salem offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Hillcats win at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. Despite the win, Lynchburg, now 7-17, is off to a terrible start.
Lynchburg used a timely hit from Héctor Miranda to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hillcats ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Miranda.
