Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Dash
|
The Winston-Salem Dash turned back the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 6-5, at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. Vince Cleveland, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win brings the Dash to 15-11, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the fifth. With Winston-Salem trailing 3-2, Cleveland hit a curveball from Jerry Jennings for a 3-run home run. With one swing, the Dash had a walk-off win.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Cleveland. "But we got it done."
