Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Frederick Keys and Wilmington Blue Rocks.

The Frederick Keys faced a tough opponent in Wilmington pitcher Dave Irving, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Harry Grove Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Irving went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Raúl Hernández earned the save, his 7th, for the Keys.

The Keys beat the Blue Rocks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Ed Snow produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Jeff O'Day, Snow gave his team the lead, 5-3, when he hit a 2-run single.

"It never gets old," said Snow. "Winning, that is."

Wilmington falls to 16-11.
