Winston-Salem designated hitter Fernando Durant helped his team beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-4. Durant, who is tied for 7th in the CAR with a .431 on-base percentage, went 2 for 4 for the Dash. Jim Miller, the winner, is now 2-2. He struck out 3 and walked 2 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 1 run on 6 hits. Mike Brown closed the game out for Winston-Salem, earning his 9th save.

The Dash got a big at-bat from right fielder Greg Battle. For the game, Battle went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Winston-Salem a 2-0 lead.

"Winning is contagious," said Durant. "We're looking forward to the next game."

The Hillcats drop to 10-18, as their stumbling start to the 2025 season continues.
