Nationals Earn 4-2 Home Win

The Potomac Nationals picked up a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, knocking off the Salem Red Sox, 4-2. Starting pitcher Chad Abbasi played a key role in the triumph. The save was credited to Jim Matthews, his 2nd. The Red Sox are now 10-18.
Ken Barnes, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR in total bases with 58, took Salem hurler Guglielmo Martini deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the Nationals on top, 2-1. In all, Barnes had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Abbasi said.
