Frederick pitcher Juan Águila did his part in helping his team beat the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winning pitcher was Águila, now 2-1. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Sergio López was credited with the save for Frederick, his 2nd of the season.

It could have been a different outcome for Frederick, had it not been for Gjèrgji Thika, the 27-year old left fielder . Thika contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Frederick up, 2-0.

Thika said his team "played with focus."

The win hiked the Frederick record to 19-10.
