Carolina second baseman Joe Allison contributed significantly to his team's 8-7 win over the Potomac Nationals. Allison, who is tied for 9th in the CAR in triples with 1, went 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Mudcats. The winner was Carolina reliever Shawn Moore, now 1-0. The loser was Sergio Fernández. The Mudcats improved their record to 13-19 with the win over Potomac.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Carolina trailing 7-4, Allison jumped on a slider from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Sergio Fernández and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the Mudcats had a walk-off win.

"This stadium was a-rockin'," said Allison.
