Daugherty, Dash Rumble to 17-4 Win
Ben Daugherty left his imprint on the 17-4 Winston-Salem win against the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Daugherty, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR in stolen bases with 9, hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 7. Pat Poe earned the win, while 24-year old right-handed pitcher Clarence Howell took the loss for Wilmington. Winston-Salem has run its win streak to 4 straight.

Winston-Salem second baseman Juan Fernández contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Dash ahead, 5-4.

"We lit up the scoreboard," said Winston-Salem manager Brent Metheny.
