Winston-Salem beat Lynchburg on the strength of starting pitcher Mike Brown's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Dave Cobb picked up the save for Winston-Salem, his 12th of the year. The Winston-Salem win streak is now 3 games.

Winston-Salem went up, 4-2, on Joe Bailey's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Bailey hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Lynchburg pitcher Don Williams stewing.
