Beat Goes On for Dash, Win 6-3 Over Hillcats
|
The Winston-Salem Dash beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-3, at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. Winston-Salem designated hitter Fernando Durant had an outstanding performance. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. António Lozano was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Orlando Castro. Mike Brown notched his 13th save of the season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Winston-Salem center fielder Vince Cleveland had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Cleveland stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-3, Winston-Salem. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We played hard and won," said Durant. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The winning continues for Winston-Salem, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
