The Winston-Salem Dash went home winners at New Winston-Salem Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Rory Briggs. Briggs stifled the Lynchburg Hillcats, enabling Winston-Salem to grab the 5-1 win. Briggs, the winner, moves to 6-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Winston-Salem.

Matt Davison, who is tied for 8th in the CAR with a .307 batting average, took Lynchburg hurler Orlando Castro deep in the bottom of the fifth. His solo home run put the Dash on top, 2-1. In all, Davison had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
