Red Sox Tack 6-3 Loss on Keys
|
Spirited fans greeted the Frederick Keys for their clash with the Salem Red Sox.
Salem center fielder Ron Lindsey was instrumental in helping the Red Sox triumph, 6-3, over the Frederick Keys. Lindsey was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Stu Russell. He tossed 87 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits.
It could have been a different outcome for Salem, had it not been for José Espinoza, the 25-year old shortstop . Espinoza contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Salem up, 5-3.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Salem manager Jose Nieves.
Today's win puts Salem at 19-25, while Frederick falls to 18-26.
