Blue Rocks Get Past Lynchburg, 2-1
The Wilmington Blue Rocks got a marvelous performance from pitcher César García. The right-hander kept the Lynchburg offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-1 Wilmington victory at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The setback makes Lynchburg 27-18.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Wilmington shortstop Jim Reed, facing Kevin Dudley, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Blue Rocks the 2-1 win.

"Tough loss," said Lynchburg manager Nick Markakis. "This one will sting for a while."
