Red Sox Earn 4-3 Win Versus Pelicans
|
The Red Sox grabbed a win, 4-3, at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Myrtle Beach pitcher Gene Allen. Allen went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Ed Scott in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Jerry Jennings took the loss for Myrtle Beach. The Red Sox improved their record to 20-26 by beating Myrtle Beach.
Johnathan Simpson was the walk-off hero for Salem. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Sox second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The house was rockin'," said Simpson.
