Slumping Pelicans Lose Again, 10-5
The Wilmington Blue Rocks defeated the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 10-5. Center Fielder Greg Lópes deserved a large share of the credit. Lópes went 4-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 3 times for the Blue Rocks. The save went to Johnathan Lowrance, his 1st this season. The Blue Rocks, at 22-24, inhabit second place in the Northern Division.

Steve Crow helped out the Wilmington cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 1-5.

"We're trending in the wrong direction," said Myrtle Beach manager Jose Lobaton.
