Carolina parlayed a decent outing from starter Kevin Snyder into a solid win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks. The final score was 5-2. Snyder got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 5 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Rudy Thomas locked down his 13th save.

Joe Allison had a big run-scoring triple for the Mudcats in the top of the fifth inning. With Carolina leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher César García and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mudcats ahead, 3-1.

"Kevin had good arm action, good stuff," said Carolina manager John Cornely.
