Winston-Salem and Lynchburg played a hard-fought contest.

Starting pitcher Luis Manuel Navarro was a major factor in the 2-1 Winston-Salem Dash triumph over the Lynchburg Hillcats. Navarro picked up the win for Winston-Salem, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3.

Winston-Salem used a well-timed hit by José Medina to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Dash ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Luis Manuel had a little bit of everything going," said Dash manager Brent Metheny. "Really sharp performance."

With the win, Winston-Salem raised its record to 29-21.
