Wilmington Beaten, 5-1, by Lynchburg

The Lynchburg Hillcats faced a tough opponent in Wilmington pitcher Aurelio Quintana, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium by a final score of 5-1. Quintana went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. The save went to Don Williams, number 3 for him. Lynchburg is now 32-21, while Wilmington is 30-23.
Clarence Reed came through with a big-time hit for Lynchburg. The designated hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Reed.
