The Potomac Nationals, despite a fine performance by Carolina pitcher Kevin King, grabbed a 3-2 win at Grainger Stadium. King allowed 2 runs over 7 innings. Potomac reliever Jesús Valdéz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jeff Harris was saddled with the loss. Potomac is now 23-33. Carolina is 28-28.

Chad MacIntyre had a direct impact on the outcome. MacIntyre contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Potomac up, 3-2.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," MacIntyre said.
