Wilmington pitcher José Alomar had a large part in his team subduing the Salem Red Sox, 3-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Steffen Lord sewed up the save, his 4th. After today's action, Wilmington sits at 26-31, while Salem falls to 22-35.

The Blue Rocks got a big at-bat from center fielder Jeff O'Duana. For the game, O'Duana went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Wilmington a 2-0 lead.
