The Potomac Nationals went down to defeat to Gene Allen and his Myrtle Beach teammates. The final score was 8-2, in favor of the Pelicans. The winning pitcher was Allen, now 3-3. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 9. The win for the Pelicans lifted their record to 33-30.
Greg Chambers had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the third for Myrtle Beach. With the bases loaded and the Pelicans leading 2-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
