The Frederick Keys got a marvelous performance from pitcher Bob Badger. The right-hander kept the Winston-Salem offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-0 Frederick victory at Harry Grove Stadium. Badger yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-7. Frederick is 27-37 and Winston-Salem, with the loss, 36-28.

The Keys got a big at-bat from first baseman Steve Stone. For the game, Stone was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Frederick a 2-0 lead.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Stone.
