Rob Hickman did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Carolina Mudcats from being beaten, 7-4, to the Lynchburg Hillcats at Grainger Stadium. Hickman was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The defeat makes Carolina 31-33.

Lynchburg used a timely hit from Doug Morrison to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hillcats ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Hillcats," said Morrison.
