Hillcats 4-2 Victors Over Myrtle Beach

Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Lynchburg Hillcats and Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
Lynchburg Hillcats starter José Nájera pitched well against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Ed Smith Stadium, leading his team to a win, 4-2. In 7.2 innings, Nájera surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Ty Allen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Steve Cobb had a big 2-run home run for the Hillcats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Lynchburg leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Kip Harris and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Hillcats on top, 3-0.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Nájera.
The win elevated the Hillcats to 40-28.
