Sampson drives in 4 runs to Light Nationals Fuse
The Potomac Nationals welcomed the Lynchburg Hillcats to an afternoon game at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium.

Led by Chris Sampson, the Potomac Nationals defeated the Lynchburg Hillcats, 12-3. Sampson, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Nationals. Potomac reliever Dylan Henderson snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bert Riggs shouldered the loss.

With Potomac leading 4-0 in the bottom of the second, Sampson came up to bat against Lynchburg pitcher Bert Riggs. Sampson hit a slider to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season put the Nationals on top, 7-0.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Nationals manager Cesar Martin.

The loss makes Lynchburg 42-29.
