Keys Fight for 5-4 Win
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
With designated hitter Jon Ramos leading the charge, the Frederick Keys defeated the Potomac Nationals, 5-4, at Harry Grove Stadium. Ramos, who is tied for 8th in the CAR in innings pitched with 95.1, threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Frederick reliever Ken Key picked up the win. Edgardo Souza took the loss for Potomac.
With a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the ninth, Cris González delivered the knockout blow when he hit a run-scoring double to win it for Frederick. In the contest, González went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times.
"It never gets old," said Ramos. "Winning, that is."
After today's action, Frederick sits at 33-42, while Potomac falls to 32-43.
